Sickle Cell disease wounds/ulcers

Leg ulcers are a chronic complication for people living with sickle cell disease. Ulcers tend to be difficult to treat successfully, healing slowly over months or years. They can severely disrupt quality of life, increase disability, require extended absence from the workplace, and place a high burden of care on healthcare systems.
The Middle East is something of a hub for sickle-cell disease, with as much as 2.6% of the population in some areas living with this genetic disorder.
Sickle-cell leg ulcers (SCLUs) are a severe, chronic, and recurrent complication of sickle-cell disease (SCD). There were no official recommendations for definitive treatment. With the appearance of our novel Colostrum based cream HealDerm these patients are given a hope for a much better quality of life even with such a harsh disease like this one.
